24/11/2016 - Bara Sensou release date pushed back to Spring 2017

There's no 1/2 post but I still decided to name this one 2/2 :D

I don't usually do posts like these, because with VNs you never know if the release date will be pushed back or if a certain game will end up being released next year. Nonetheless, I was looking through the games that were scheduled for the second half of 2016 and decided to make a post so that you pretties may decide what you want to play. As you all know I don't have a PSP or a PS Vita, so the only games I play are for PC, which is why I'll only be focusing on those!

I'll try to keep this post updated with dates, OP movies & others, as well as any new games that pop up or swap over to 2017. I might keep these posts up if you lovieles find them useful! To be honest for the time being I'm just doing it to organise my future wallet expenses :'D

I'm adding this game to the list even though it's from May because it got an English release for PC on Steam. The game seems to have originally been a phone App. I don't dislike the artwork, but the concept it's going for creeps me out, and if the in game music is going to be as annoying as the one on the official Japanese site then no thanks, I don't want to play this. None of the characters are voiced, either. Still, otoges rarely get English releases, so give it a go if you're interested! I'll be skipping this one.

PS: This same developer released a galge in English called Kyoto Beautiful Days on Steam too a few days ago, in case anybody's interested in playing that...

Tsumikui ~Sen no Noroi, Sen no Inori~

Studying like usual,
Talking to friends like usual,
Walking home from school while looking at the starry sky like usual.
The protagonist was suddenly attacked by a man overflowing with killing intent and was chased into an abyss of senseless death.

Fear you can't put words to, and pain.
Then to the ears of the protagonist who is suffering in agony comes the voice of a youth wrapped in mystery -- Nagami Ren.

From his kiss came the protagonist's salvation, and an invitation along a cursed path that cannot be turned back on.

I'm really liking the artwork and the setting for this game. The MC, Anzaki Kaoru, being the reincarnation of a princess sounds really attractive, I'm such a sucker for these "previous life" settings. She's positive and uncommonly strong with the sword... so far she sounds like the sort of MC I enjoy playing. And she's even going to be voiced! I'll definitely be picking this one up! I have very high expectations for this game and I'm really looking forward to it.

"Unfortunately, after a very strict screening process, it has been decided you are not suitable."
"Ahh... I didn't make it through this time either..."
The protagonist, Akazawa Karen, is a university student suffering a string of job-hunting failures. Depression consumes her due to the endless rejections, and her already lacking self-esteem is broken. One day, as she's weeping bitterly, the moe character from her favourite dakimakura, Mr. Prince, jumps out and brings her good news:
"These aren't just any glasses. They're 'magical glasses'. Just by wearing these you can change into your ideal self."
What the lovely Mr. Prince —who has come all the way from Fairy-tale Land— hands her is a pair of ordinary red glasses. Half in doubt, she tries them on. Suddenly, her mind is filled with confidence, and even her outwards appearance changes into that of a lively, reliable woman!
"If I have these, job offers are practically going to rain on me!"
Though she is greatly excited and pumped up, there's no way something so good would come without a price...
Mr. Prince tells her that in order to keep these glasses she must set the currently twisted Fairy-tale Land right. In order to get more job offers she promptly agrees to his terms, and believing that as long she has theses classes it should all be a walk in the park she steps right into this magical world.

But what she finds there is a strange world full of odd people with no common sense!

I'm very sceptical about this game. The artwork reminds me of those fetiche R-18 nurse games, but then again that was the reason why I took so long to pick up Yoshiwara Higanbana, and I ended up loving that otoge...
Karen is going to be voiced (there's a few previews available on the page), which is a really big plus for me, but the story sounds a bit meeh. The three worlds you can visit within Fairy-tale Land are those in the stories of Momotaro, Snow white and Peter Pan. I guess I might give the trail a try, but I'm not too hyped for this game.

Blackish House sideA→

RELEASE DATE: August 26, 2016
RATING: All Ages
DEVELOPER: Honeybee Black
VN database (Blackish House series)

Those with individuality, good looks which help to bring this out, as well as talent — however, despite having all these things, none of them think about the other people around them, and are all ‘blackish’ personalities.
The agency they work for, SeiGetsu Production, notices this; gathering all these talents, they present them with a single condition.
Which is... for all of them to live together, cooperate with one another, and successfully produce a musical performance within half a year. If they fail, the agency will end all of their contracts, and make sure they can never be a part of the showbiz again.
Where they are forced to live is a run-down mansion that hardly suits these talented stars. The amount of time given to them is half a year. Gathered are all different kinds people — a mix of actors, dancers, seiyuu, singers, models. Furthermore, all of them possess rather ‘extreme’ quirks in their personalities.
Forced into the midst of this mess is the heroine, an actress who does not possess a ‘self.’ After half a year, what is it that the heroine and these other members, will see———?

First of two instalments in the new Honeybee Black game series, Blackish House! I'm really looking forward to seeing Kazuaki's artwork for this game, especially after playing Ayakashi Gohan. I really like the bad boy concept they're going for here. The MC's name is Amano Hina, a second year high school student and an actress that "wishes to become another person". Sadly it looks like she isn't going to have a CV, but I love her character design and the story itself sounds very attractive! I'm so playing this one!!
SideZ seems to be scheduled for 2016 too, but there's still no formal release date for it yet.

Our stage is the second half of the 15th century, in a Medieval England submerged in the War of the Roses. At the time in Great Britain, though the Hundred Years' War with France had ended, the country was divided between supporters of the House of Lancaster -who wore a Red Rose crest- and the House of York -who wore a White Rose crest-, and the noble families fought against each other.
One day, the protagonist, Charlotte, meets the forest fairy Pakk, who gives her a mysterious rose seed. The moment she swallows it strange things begin to happen around her, and she is invited to the armistice party between the Lancaster and York Houses organised by the Lord Protector, Richard, the Duke of York. There she becomes acquainted with the knights of England.
Thus Charlotte will, before she realises it herself, be dragged onto the main stage of history. She too, is one of those unhappy with the current situation, and wishes for a peaceful country. She will make her beloved prince the king, help strong knights, and begin to want to make this a happy country.

First of three games in the Bara Sensou series! Looks like we'll be getting two other games that so far have been titled "King Richard" and "King Henry". It also appears that Charlotte's gonna have a CV, as every other character in the game, but it hasn't yet been revealed who it'll be. I'm really liking how they've decided to go for a more story-telling type of artwork and character design. It reminds me of the artwork in Akagami no Shirayuki-hime, which is a really big plus for me. I'm especially intrigued by the setting, seeing as I remember studying this in history lessons (lol I don't actually remember anything about it). It doesn't surprise me that England's the stage for this, what with how much Japan seems to like all UK things, but usually the focus lies on the Victorian era -the ladies, the gentlemen, the maids and butlers...-, so it's actually quite refreshing. Definitely will be trying it out.

The Gods from the faraway Kingdom of Heaven, and the Gods who inhabit the earthly world, populated by humans. There are gods of wind, fire, earth and water - Gods that dwell within nature. "It's a hazy memory, but I sort of remember the streets..."
Sayu walks down the street, submerged in nostalgia. Because of the shock her parents' death caused her, her memories from the past are very vague. This made her very uneasy, but after living with her gentle brother and supporting each other, Sayu decided to treasure her present and her future, and not force herself to remember her past.

A week after Sayu moves, when she has finally adapted herself to life in this town and in her new school, a transfer student arrives at Shiraki Academy one day. And he instantly walks up to Sayu──

"We finally meet... I'm a Manufactured God from the Haruki Shrine! In order to take back my powers, I need your lost memories! Please help me search for them!"
This mysterious young man who calls himself a Manufactured God, Katsuki Ren, informs Sayu that they met when they were young, and that both her memories and his powers as a God were sealed away.

Blank memories──

The story in search for the lost shards of her memories hereby begins...

The effing artwork for this game is so pretty, I am sold, I am so getting this game. That said, that's how A'sRings previous game, Orfleurs, manged to lure me into it, and I very much regretted that (still have to finish off the game, but man there are better things to be doing...). It doesn't look like the heroin will have a voice, which is disappointing, as always, but I'm still very excited for this pretty artwork R-18 hue hue hue (Laura wipe the drool off your face please you're a disgrace).

People are divided into those who rule, and those who are ruled over.
The great floods divided the world in two: The beautiful heavenly paradise, the Upper World, and the sullied Steam City, the Underworld.
The people of the Upper World, who were favoured and allowed to escape from calamity, scorn those who live in the underworld, who were not chosen to survive.
The protagonist, Cyrus, born and raised in the upper world, dislikes the underworld too. To the people of the Upper World, the Underworld is the far end prison criminals get sent to, the place where only the vulgar live. Cyrus spends her life away from the Underworld, maintaining public order and protecting the people of the Upper World as an officer, believing in her own justice.
One day, as part of her duty, Cyrus is sent to inspect the Underworld, and along with her partner, Fin, descends to a district full of criminals.
As she comes into contact with this unknown world, her cogwheels of fate begin to turn…

I'm really liking the steampunk theme they seem to be going for in this game, but I'm a bit sceptical about the MC being a law enforcer. It's not that I don't want badass females, but this being an otome game the chances of Cyrus not actually being properly strong and just an officer in name are high.
None the less, I like the setting and the story. It doesn't look like the MC is going to be voiced, but I'm intrigued enough to overlook that!

In a world where creatures called "werewolves" rule, humans are confused by day and eaten at night.
From ancient times for however hundreds of years humanity has fought back against these werewolves who eat their comrades.

The protagonist is a member of one such werewolf suppression squad. One day she marches into a mansion where there are said to be werewolves.
Inside the closed up mansion is only a single butler who worked there.
He was a werewolf. Everybody at that time thought so, but in different places the squads allies were being attacked by werewolves.
It seems the butler isn't a werewolf. The worst possibility came to pass, the start of a nightmare, from that day the squad was attacked from every direction by these "werewolves".

"Someone among us, is a werewolf--"

From that suspicion, trust and love was born.
In front of your eyes, could your beloved person be a werewolf?

A dark fantasy Otome-style game where various shapes of love are presented.

Source: VN Database
The protagonist's name is Philia, and I don't yet see any CV's listed on the official web page so I guess there's still a chance she'll be voiced. I'm really liking the artwork I've found here and there so far for this game, and the setting seems interesting. As with Steam Prison, I really hope Philia isn't just a hunter in name but actually turns out to be a skillful warrior of sorts, especially because her family was murdered by warewolves.
Nonetheless, I'm sold. I might first give the trial a go before deciding to buy it, though. You never know with R-18s...

That's it, my lovelies! I'm very excited for some of these, especially for the Blackish House and Bara no Sensou series, but I'm a little disappointed with what the R-18 industry has to offer... I'd like to say Enkan no Memoria looks promising, but I'm 100% sure I'm being fooled bvy the pretty gorgeous drawings.
Either way, What games are you looking forward to the most, and which ones are you going to skip? Do feel free to comment and mention any other games scheduled for 2016 that I might've not heard of!

  1. If these are pc games, does that means they will be available in steam? a but...prob in japanese -sad-

    1. Hmmm Only a few Japanese VNs ever get released on Steam, actually. I'm not too familiar with the platform since I don't yet have an account, but I believe every game released on Steam has an english version to it, so unless it sells in the west it won't get a release. After all, Steam is a western digital distribution platform, and it's not that popular in Japan. I do know, though, that Bocchi Musume (the last otoge I reviewed) got a digital release on sites like DLsite, where you can purchase legally, but most games only get a physical release.

But hey, there's a bunch of VNs on Steam in English! I've been browsing through them these past few days and I'm thinking of making myself an account :D

    2. OOooh! imma check today, see what i find.

    3. Yep i found my secret pets in Steam lol

  2. Did you see the preview for Noraneko to Koi no Renkinjustu? They're cats that turn into men! *They are perfect beings* *One of them was even voiced by Shinnosuke Tachibana, Tomoe's voice actor* I was going to get it and attempt to translate it, but it wasn't available on my devices. Sob.

    1. I actually hadn't, until you posted your comment >.< I don't play phone otome games because my smartphone is already full to the brim, but I checked it out and it looks so cute!! I configured my phone whilst I was living in Japan and my GooglePlay store is in Japanese, so I can download it easily :D
